This page shows an ICMP request and reply in two cases.

1. Two scenarios are simulated in the test. In the first one the ARP table is empty and therefore an ARP request must be initiated by the VHDL core. When the ARP reply is correctly received, the ARP table is updated and the ICMP reply is fired on line. For the second simulation case, the ICMP request, that follows, ICMP reply is immediately responded as the ARP table is already updated.


2. In the next page the content of the ICMP replies are shown. The fields of the ICMP are colored and briefly explained.
