Installation, configuration and operation of nxserever and nxclient on two debian machines.

1. The motivation to use nx free on my system is:
   I use an old PC machine as my x server, using debian lenny. To run more CPU demanding applications, I use another debian on my kids strong PC as a colinux (copartive linux under windows XP colinux ).
   Some of my applications, which use graphical user interface are slow. I thought that nx free can help by reducing the traffic in these cases.


2. I installed the nx server on the strong debian machine, under colinux. While the nx client was installed the old machine.
   Note: The colinux runs only the X client, while the old machine runs the X server (opposite to the NX).


3. Another issue to consider during configuration is that my colinux does not run any desktop program like the ones that nx can handle such as gnome or KDE.
   So in my case I select run console. Before NX, I would use SSH
   ssh -C -X usr@192.168.2...
   or even faster, by using a less demanding CPU cipher. At the home using only internal LAN, this seems to be okay.
   ssh -c arcfour,blowfish-cbc -XC pini@colinux '/usr/bin/firefox>&/dev/null'
   


4. The NX free did not improve performance for programs such as firefox etc ..., over the former way of using ssh, but still it was a good exercise in installing, configuring and have it run correctly debian exercise.
