CO-linux installtion and usage

Motivation: If you can allow, just install linux. Sometimes this is not possible.
As an example for colinux usage, is my PC network at home. I had at home one SUSE linux on a desktop and one XP on a portable machine. The SUSE desktop was 10 years old and bore a lot of "its shoulders". His tasks also included apache web server, DHCP, router via an ADSL modem, disk and printer server using SAMBA etc... All of this was with as little memory as 384 M byte and 40 G byte disk. This was too much and when the SUSE's hardware started to malfunction, I needed to think on replacement.

For the new computer, which I decided to buy, my daughters wanted XP and not another linux. So I had installed XP as the mother operating system and colinux as daughter operating system.

The following will describe how I installed colinux and configure it to have more disk space and see the entire PC disk drive E and C.
It will also discuss my user and security issues.

The benefits are obvious. I have a linux, which I can connect from remote and work concurrently with my daughters.
The drawbacks are that colinux restrict the memory to 1G byte

  1. colinux installation
  2. colinux security
  3. Comparison between cygwin, colinux and vmware
  4. Hard disk clone using dd comand from colinux
