The response format R1 contains a 32-bit field named card status. This field is intended to transmit the card's status information to the host. In my slave implementation the status is tracked via a state machine.
- The SDIO master reads and decodes the status.
- The following is the report generated by the SDIO master.

The slave's status is shown in waves. For debug purposes an ASCII string is
also driven on waves. This is explained in detail at

SD flash state machine:
enumerate constants
for a state machine using a perl script.

Please note that a newer version of the SD slave exists. It supports
Samsung flash instead of xilinx ROM.
It is written in VHDL, supports more SD features,
like SD read burst,
and has an improved test bench.
